Have you suffered a workplace injury?

We’re here to help.

Synapse by Park Integrative Health™ is an approved Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) provider for physiotherapy.

What does that mean? If you’ve been injured at work or in workplace-related motor vehicle accidents, your treatment may be covered by WCB. Our team is here to help you recover safely, get back to work, and navigate the claims process with ease.

Learn how below.

Understanding WCB

What is WCB Coverage?

The Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) provides coverage for workers who experience an injury or illness related to their job. This ensures you receive timely medical care, rehabilitation, and support without having to worry about the immediate financial burden.

You may qualify for WCB physiotherapy if you have:

  • A workplace accident or injury (lifting, falls, repetitive strain, etc.)

  • An injury that happened while driving for work (some motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) may qualify)

  • A gradual onset injury linked to your work duties

If you’re not sure whether your injury is covered, we can help you understand your options.

Why File a WCB Claim?

Filing a WCB claim ensures:

  • Coverage for physiotherapy treatments (no out-of-pocket expense for approved care)

  • Early access to rehabilitation so you can heal and safely return to work

  • Workplace protections during your recovery period

  • Collaborative care between your physiotherapist, employer, and WCB case manager

What to expect

The WCB process

We know paperwork and reporting can feel overwhelming. We’re here to ensure the process of receiving treatment for your WCB claim goes as smoothly as possible.

Here’s how the process works:

Step 1

Report to Your Employer

-Report your injury as soon as possible.

-Employers have 72 hours to notify WCB.

Step 2

WCB notification

-WCB creates a claim.

-You may or may not have your claim number when booking your first assessment with a Synapse physiotherapist.

Step 3

Physiotheray at our clinic

-Initial assessment + treatment:

-A physiotherapy assessment is completed.

-A report is submitted to WCB within 48 hours.

-Future appointments are booked (usually 2 per week for 4 weeks).

Treatment at Synapse by Park Integrative Health™ will involve two phases:

Phase 1 Treatment

  • 2 visits per week for 4 weeks.

  • Abbreviated progress report due at 2 weeks.

  • Comprehensive report at 4 weeks (with extension request if needed).

Phase 2 Treatment

  • Continued care (typically two visits per week), depending on extension approval.

  • Progress reports are submitted every 2–3 weeks, as required.

Throughout this process, our team communicates directly to provide an integrative and collaborative process with WCB so you can focus on your recovery.
