What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a modality within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that uses tiny, sterile needles inserted into the skin at specific acupuncture points to stimulate the body’s natural healing process and the flow of energy, or Qi (pronounced “chi”). In TCM, it is thought that pain, disharmony, or disease is a result of blockages in the flow of your Qi. Acupuncture restores the flow of Qi and, therefore, brings your health into a state of remembered wellness.

What should I expect from an acupuncture appointment?

Our team of Registered Acupuncturists collaborate with you to first complete a thorough assessment of your health history and current health concerns and then create a treatment plan to support you with your goals.

An acupuncture appointment may look very different depending on your individual wellness goals, but rest assured, this treatment is intended to be relaxing, healing, and impactful. Clients can notice a difference after one or two treatments, but for the best results, acupuncture should be practiced regularly. Our Registered Acupuncturists will also use complementary modalities, such as cupping, moxibustion, and electro-stimulation during a treatment.
